Jeff Clay—Salt Lake Photographic Print Society Meeting

Featured Speaker:  Jeff Clay

Mandalay, Rangoon, Bagan temples, the mighty Irrawaddy River… Burma … names long linked to exotic travel and mysterious peoples, evocative of a time past. Burma — now renamed Myanmar — a country closed to outsiders for decades, led by a corrupt and despotic military clique, but now with new elections, democracy is blooming, and the land has opened to visitors and the world.

This past January Jeff Clay spent two weeks touring and photographing the wonderful and diverse landscapes and peoples of Myanmar. Ancient temples, crumbling British-Raj era buildings, friendly hill tribes, fishermen, villagers and city people alike were captured in several thousands of frames. Jeff will be presenting the best of his Burmese work in an image-stuffed travelogue presentation.
